Joyce Chiang (b. 1990) is a multidisciplinary artist living in Hong Kong and works with ink, resin, watercolor and western calligraphy. Chiang’s work speaks to how we navigate through stability and change in our everyday life — capturing the nuances of peace and flux and the journey to equilibrium. Stories unfold through her creative process — where she uses a multi-layered approach to foster an active dialogue between artist and medium, in pursuit of harmony and balance on canvas.
Chiang was born and raised in Hong Kong, then moved to the United States to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science at UCLA then a Master of Architecture at University of Pennsylvania. Upon completing her education, she returned to Hong Kong working as an architect and obtained her professional license under the American Institute of Architects. Her creative practice began as a calligraphy and illustration studio, working with over 40 international luxury retail brands and real estate developers. Her artworks have been included in group shows at Hart Haus (2018, 2019) and exhibited at Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong (2021).
